April 2019 vs 2020 - featuring the best Greatest Showman birthday cake i've come across.

Updated: Mar 10, 2021

April 2019 - what an action packed month of circus shows, circus theme parties and school circus workshops.

Given that I was not in kids party action for 3 weekends of April, these numbers will be hard to beat for 2020.

I squeezed in 7 children's parties, 4 days of circus shows at Wellington Country Park, a second Ski holiday, 3 school days and a partridge in a pair tree.

2 of these kids parties were scheduled for mid week during the Easter holidays. School holidays children's parties probably aren't perfect for everyone, but one of the mums in particular tried to get me on 3 or 4 different weekends and unfortunately I was fully booked, so we found a compromise and did it on a Tuesday afternoon and it worked a treat.

I got a lovely review from Lucy who was one of the mums in one of our Essex parties on the first weekend in April. She put on the most amazing Greatest Showman party featuring specially printed balloons with Greatest Showman and the birthday girls name on in the same font. Really lovely touch.

I cannot praise Lucas and Jony enough. My daughters 5th birthday was absolutely amazing. Such lovely people and a top class service. If your thinking of booking them for any event you will definitely not regret it.

Is this the best Greatest Showman birthday cake ever?

I think there's a good case to suggest this is in fact the best Greatest Showman cake. I've never seen a model of an aerial hoop artist atop a cake, let alone one that is so accurately depicted. So much love for this cake. I'm not sure how Lucy will top it next year? As I said at the start of this post, we were very busy with circus shows at Wellington Country Park. Working as part of a larger big top circus show is a lovely change from usual proceedings and we had a fantastic time at Wellington which was a welcome change from a very wet year in 2018.

Wellington Country Park is a fantastic place to take the kids and just as lovely for us to be spending 4 days in the beautiful grounds surrounded by wildlife. Doesn't feel too much like work sometimes.

My favourite school circus day of the year.

Possibly, I'm not sure, my short term memory isn't great so I do forget a lot of individual school days. However St Saviours in Maida Vale London will always have a special place in my heart.

They have booked me 3 times for circus days now. On this occasion I was joining in on the fantastic Imaginarium event. A special off curriculum day where children are allowed to roam the school participating in all sorts of STEM activities and games, disco, creativity in general.

I've been to the last 2 Imaginariums holding circus skills lessons and doing a mini show at the end of the day. I've been invited back for 2020 and the parents tell me they are going for a real show stopper as it's some of their final years.

So that was my monthly diary entry of the previous years events. I will wrap up what I've been up to this April at the end of the month.
